Handmade Tree Ring Prints
Each year, a tree forms new cells, arranged in concentric circles called annual growth rings. These concentric rings tell the tree's story. They reveal the age of a tree as well as the conditions and events that have occurred in the tree’s environment, such as drought, heavy rain, disease, fire, shade, wind. My tree ring prints are prepared and printed by hand in small editions. The print is made directly from wood slabs ethically sourced in Southern Vancouver Island, Canada. Because of the nature of hand printing, each print has unique and subtle differences. |
